Fryeburg Academy Senior Signs with Bentley University on National Signing Day

Each year on National Signing Day, some of the best student-athletes across the United States eagerly await the opportunity to sign athletic scholarships with potential colleges and universities. For FA senior, Abigail Hewes, Wednesday, November 13, was no exception.

“I am honored to receive this distinction from Bentley University,” says Abigail Hewes. “I’ve played for Coach Frost all four years at the Academy and worked hard to improve my skills each year. I love the game of field hockey and look forward to the challenge of playing at the college level”.

Hewes’ merit and athletic scholarship from Bentley University will cover one-half of her tuition for all four years.  Hewes will begin her freshman year at Bentley after graduating this spring from Fryeburg Academy and will join her brother Ryan Hewes ‘18, who is currently a sophomore at the college.
